The following was taken from the Yorkshire Regiment website

Killed in action 30 Oct 1917. Son of Silvanus Johnson of Dennisons Yard, Yarm, a fellmonger. He had been born in Yarm and was living there when he enlisted in Yarm. Tyne Cot Memorial, Belgium

Yarm1914 believe that Robert was born in Yarm in 1897. In 1901 he lived in Dennison Yard with his parents Silvanus aged 36, mother Ann aged 28, sister Lonie aged 3 and boarder James Boddy. By 1911 his mother had died and 3 of his brothers and sisters. His father was living on his own in Dennison's Yard and working as a labourer in the local skinyard. Robert joined the Yorkshire Regiment and was assigned two numbers 1682 and 200241.
